Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of taking off 3 weeks to go visit my best friend in S. Korea. This was my 2nd trip to Seoul and was much better this time due to the weather. Will add more content/pictures later. =)Some pictures of the 2007 Lotus Lantern Festival Parade. This took place on Sunday (May 20, 2007) in the Insadong neighborhood of the Jongno-gu district of Seoul, South Korea. It started around 7:00 PM and lasted 'til about 9:30 PM. This is to commemorate the birth of Buddha. Actual birthday is celebrated in South Korea on the 8th day of the 4th month of the Chinese Lunar calendar (May 24, 2007). The festival lasts all weekend (Friday-Sunday). A little bit touristy today. I planned on heading over to Insadong, which is an old area of Seoul full of art and craft; a place all the tourists head to for sourvenirs. First though, I took the wrong exit at the subway and stumbled across a sign for Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁), so I confirmed directions for the place with a passerby and made my way down. Unfortunately, when I got there I found out you have to join a tour. But for a special limited time, ie: “today only”, yo...We spent the world day travelling back to Seoul. And when we arrived at Seoul, it was late afternoon. The only place we visited was Lotte World, an indoor version of Everland. I must say, it was quite boring, as we did rides and more rides. We didnt explore much of the outdoor theme as we just wanted to keep ourselves warm indoors. And after travelling half the day, we just dont have the enjoy to enjoy the rides.
